Israel reports 4,800 new COVID-19 cases

JERUSALEM, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported 4,800 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the tally of infections in the country to 1,244,580.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Israel rose by 15 to 7,582, the ministry added.

The number of patients in serious condition in Israel increased from 710 to 723, total recoveries climbed to 1,162,100 after 2,362 newly recovered cases were recorded, and active cases stood at 74,898.

The number of people who have received the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Israel stood at 6.07 million, or 64.6 percent of its total population, while over 5.59 million have taken two doses and over 3.1 million have got three jabs, according to the ministry.
