Israel reports 6,314 new COVID-19 cases

JERUSALEM, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Ministry of Health on Friday reported 6,314 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country's total infections to 1,256,600.

The death toll from the virus rose by 19 to 7,611, while the number of patients in serious condition decreased from 723 to 703.

The total recoveries rose to 1,183,557 after 10,025 newly recovered cases were added, while active cases decreased to 65,432.

The number of people who have received the first doses of COVID-19 vaccine in Israel surpassed 6.08 million, or 64.7 percent of its total population, while 5.6 million have taken two doses and over 3.1 million have got three jabs, according to the ministry.
